“This is the first in a new series exploring addiction based on results generated by predictive search engine queries. Each piece begins by entering a phrase, in this case, “addicted to d…”, into a search engine. I then compile the predictive suggestions in list form. Generated by algorithms, predictive searches are based on popular queries and reflect our times' personal, emotional, and inherently human questions and concerns. When taken out of context, the list of words creates elusive poetry that seeks to inspire viewers to make their own connections based on personal associations." - Brian
